From www.shambhala.com:

The one whose mind knows the clarity of perfect wisdom is never afraid or even anxious. Why? Because when being at one with the living power of wisdom, the mother of all buddhas, that person has the strength to remain in a state of undivided contemplation even while ceaselessly and skillfully engaging in compassionate action. The wise one is enabled to act because of concentration on a single prayer:

“May all beings never leave the path of enlightenment, which is their own true nature and is empty of separate self-existence.” Prajnaparamita

A SINGLE EXCELLENT NIGHT (attributed to BUDDHA)
(Bhaddekaratta Sutta)

“Let not a person revive the past
Or on the future build his hopes;
For the past has been left behind
And the future has not been reached.

Instead with insight let him see
Each presently arisen state;
Let him know that and be sure of it,
Invincibly, unshakeably.

Today the effort must be made;
Tomorrow Death may come, who knows?
No bargain with Mortality
Can keep Him and his hordes away,

But one who dwells thus ardently,
Relentlessly, by day, by night ---
It is he, the Peaceful Sage has said,
Who has had a single excellent night.

30) FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF ZERO: are there two worlds, one positive, one negative, one light, one dark, with nothingness between, negating the concept of death as nothing other than a change of perspective?

Nothing is born, nothing is destroyed. Away with your dualism, your likes and dislikes. Every single thing is just the One Mind. When you have perceived this, you will have mounted the Chariot of the Buddhas. ICH

The New Story of Narcissus: Notes: re his realisation that life, without enlightenment and its vehicle of compassion, is a zero-sum game of infinite duration in an infinite universe, that consciousness is a passive perceptor of conditioned responses, that the only escape from this causal predetermined 'fado' is constant awareness and compassionate action, that (and this is what caused his peers to stone him to death by the pool) a solution to any issue of social contention that contributes to violence is less of a solution and more the malefactor, that.. from BUDDHA NATURE

The masses have never thirsted after truth. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim". Gustave Le Bon;"The Crowd"

"The essence of oligarchical rule is not father-to-son inheritance, but the persistence of a certain world-view and a certain way of life ... A ruling group is a ruling group so long as it can nominate its successors... Who wields power is not important, provided that the hierarchical structure remains always the same.": George Orwell, 1984

'Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime": Ernest Hemingway

Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.": Albert Einstein

"Nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear": Albert Camus

an evaluation of my evolving world view would start with the statement that: existence exists, our universe is infinite, yet the proof of these concepts is found to be infinitely small, that is, mindfullness or opinion, nothing more; (speaking of minimalist philosophy! still waiting for more to be revealed)

"The first step in a fascist movement is the combination under an energetic leader of a number of men who possess more than the average share of leisure, brutality, and stupidity. The next step is to fascinate fools and muzzle the intelligent, by emotional excitement on the one hand and terrorism on the other." Bertrand Russell: Freedom, Harcourt Brace, 1940

"Most of the greatest evils that man has inflicted upon man have come through people feeling quite certain about something which, in fact, was false." : Bertrand Russell

"Dogma demands authority, rather than intelligent thought, as the source of opinion; it requires persecution of heretics and hostility to unbelievers; it asks of its disciples that they should inhibit natural kindliness in favor of systematic hatred" - Bertrand Russell, Unpopular essays

The Iraq War Morphs Into The Iranian War

By Paul Craig Roberts

It is 1939 all over again. The world waits helplessly for the next act of naked aggression by rogue states. Only this time the rogue states are not the Third Reich and Fascist Italy. They are the United States and Israel.

"Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind.": Henry Miller -(1891-1980) American writer

Question that challenges this aggregate, this writer: has my fortune (or misfortune) resulted in enlightenment, has it been a result of karma in previous lives (for this life of mine has been decidedly unremarkable altruistically) to see what the Buddha saw? If one has the skills, a state of tranquility is so close, so available, that any endeavor not spiritual in nature is unworthy of the dignity of man. ( this is what frightens the powers that be ) Was this the situational configuration of mythical 'EDEN'? Was Eden in fact a reality, a promise?
While Western driven economic and religious protocols promise eternal exploitation and suffering for all but the chosen 1 percent, how can the indigeneous peoples, united with the poor, respond except with non-violent insurrection?

"Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal GOD, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism. Albert Einstein in "Albert Einstein: The Human Side

Support of terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda, Taliban, USA, Israel, Britain, Hezbollah, etc. is assured by a vote for the Republican party or the Democratic party. So let's vote GREEN PARTY.

"The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do." : Samuel P. Huntington

Well, to discuss cultural differences from the environment of a veritable Garden of Eden and from the perspective of the natural truth of enlightenment, presenting our successes and failures without first familiarizing you with our basic philosophy might lead you to believe that we are truly alien to human tradition. So, let’s begin with an anecdote of my family life: meditating on the vision of a quilt that I plan to construct, to represent graphically and texturally the values that Stephanie, my wife, and I have exchanged during our marriage, it appeared that our system of values, as that of our community, could be expressed with two words: eclectic minimalism; that is, an analysis of the components of our lives with the avowed intent of retaining only those activities that enriched our lives or those of our community.

to be continued: (less emphasis on material, sensual gratification; more on the life of mind)

Not only is another world possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing: Arundhati Roy:

But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings -- that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide." -- Buddha [Gautama Siddharta] (563 - 483 BC),

You see: we have here a secluded nest of lounge-type supports with a cabinet to store musical instruments, guitar, flute, drums, et cetera, and another cabinet for sensory enhancement supplies, antiseptics and sperm collection and logistics. If you will all get comfortable and natural, that is, if we can all get naked and close, we can begin.
Hmmm! Well, I can see that Yuko and this vocalizing guardian have truly excited the attention of you two males, but I must protest: first the lesson and then the reward; so let's all attend our breaths, in and out, in and out, now concentrate,,,oh,,,I can see that that's not working,,,well how about a cold shower, and yes we can facilitate that! THERE!!! ok, back to our breathing...........yes

Develop conversation re: fashioning of a social construct, such that the failures of previous societies, (misuse of psychological techniques, hoarding of basic necessities, ideologies, philosophy (or the lack of), immigration, emigration, etc.) are not repeated, such as the present world society’s mis-identification of the consuming problem; instead of pitting EAST against WEST, ISLAM against CHRISTIANITY, we, the people of the world, should put away our ancient, tribal, exclusionary mores and unite to defend against the divisionary forces of fascism and religion and come to an agreement on a common, rational philosophy.
There is one possible mindset that would enable this revolution, described in this way by Druilla after one of her 'hot-tub meditations': "Observing the suffering in all parts of the world was so unbearable that a way appeared to me as a congregation of peoples of all races celebrating the concept that each of us is an incarnate guardian of a connection, a portal, enabling access to universal mind or conciousness, or God, if you prefer, thereby establishing each of us as a unique, proactive partner of inestimable value to that universal being." Philosophically this is a slam- dunk for a beautiful, elegant, logical unification of the spiritual endeavors of all ethnic groups, but religious differences could pose problems. Islam and Buddhism are the closest to this realization but Christianity seems bent on destroying its constituents and the rest of us as well.

The simplest, most effective, weight-loss regimen, backed by scientific studies and proven by empirical evidence gathered by this writer, can be described in two words: EAT LESS; but you must be committed to a vision, that is you must use your mind with complete integrity; if you were to eat just a little less than you want at each meal and expand the protocol as you gain confidence, your suffering can be relieved. But you must cultivate attentiveness, awareness!

Attentiveness is the path to true life; Indifference is the path to death. The attentive do not die; The indifferent are as if they are dead already.

Mr. President, let me make myself very clear. Until The United States
destroys all of its inventory of nuclear arms and ends the building of more nuclear arms, Iran, as a sovereign nation has every right to have
nuclear power as well as nuclear weapons. If you and your government
attempt to use military options or attempt to use economic means to
end this 'crisis' of your own making, the democratic people of the world will destroy you and the other Western governments of the UN.
sincerely,

"All experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."
The Declaration of Independence (1776)

Of note: Has anyone ever investigated the alarming similarities between obesity and homosexuality? I realize that the objective profiles of the subjects of this study are at almost opposite ends of the scale on socio- economic-educational issues, but the logical rationalizations, and unexamined epistomologies, are similar in several particular perspectives.

Democracy [is] when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers: Aristotle

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." : John Donne (1573-1631)
