"Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings -- that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide." -- Buddha [Gautama Siddharta] (563 - 483 BC),
"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us, "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." : Albert Einstein - (1879-1955) Physicist and Professor, Nobel Prize 1921

BUILDING...
a concept that might have appealed to our three chosen moralists:
"random acts of unsolicited kindness have the power to remake the world."
While ancient employment of the concept of 'GOD' was predominately characterized by mysticism,
since the sixth century B.C.E., specifically in Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and other eastern philosophies, we have realized the power of religion to formulate and establish a protocol of events and practices to be desired in a morally successful life. Religion is typically based on 'GOD'. But this concept has different treatment from the different perspectives of differing geopolitical and ethnic groups, thus the growing divisions among people of the world.
Let me suggest that, with better means of communication, world peace would be more easily achieved if all religions replaced the ancient concept of an abstract, mystical 'GOD', along with the partisan codes of 'worship', with the moral protocol described by consciousness of Reality illumined by the lens of Reason.
HELP ME OUT!! Try this experiment. Next time that you go to church, or read a religious tract, or read the Bible, Koran, try substituting "consciousness of Reality illumined by the lens of Reason" for the word "God". Join my 'church'.
THE BEGINNING OF CONSCIOUS UNDERSTANDING
It is my educated understanding that the discord among populations in the world arises from two basically incompatible perceptions of reality and the disparate reactions to reality. Western consciousness is uncomfortable with reality as it is and seeks to mold it to western expectations, while Eastern consciousness welcomes the opportunity to experience reality, what exists, seeking to enlighten the individual mind so to attain perfect consciousness.
Terrorism, I believe, is a form of democratic plebiscite, seeking to bring Global attention to Global problems arising from these two different epistemologies. Look at the American and French revolutions; there were the same types of irrational actions, just a different scale.
Perhaps you have recognized the nature of my search; now the hour has arrived in which I will name it: sure, and wouldn't a unified theory of consciousness and being be well received by a 'dumbed-down' world population frustrated in it's less than universally accepted or understood task of schooling governmental leaders in the realities of Globalism; so Ill whisper
A weakness of any philosophy that uses as its premise a conception that it cannot prove is that it leaves open a wide portal through which objections of logical integrity may enter, and never be answered unless unreason and mysticism constitute an answer by their admitted nature.
Suppose that, theoretically, Mohammed was a reincarnation of Jesus who, himself, was a reincarnation of Siddhartha Gautama, Buddha. Would we not have a unified moral teaching, a generalized conception of God or Non-God [does it really matter? ( as GOD is really just a black box to which we relegate all data that we cannot integrate or understand)] and an historically uniform political statement;
(do not forget that all three moralists were united in upsetting the temple,
casting out the money-changers, and casting down graven images, so-to-speak).
Short-cutting a recounting of the many logical and philosophical evolutions that brings us to present-day,
Ill sum up political reality:
We have real common interests among the many diverse ethnicities inhabiting this planet, as is becoming more apparent and more widely disseminated.
Conversely, our governments continue to emphasize our differences and incompatibility, thus keeping us divided and in fear, largely to assure their own continued social, political and economic dominance.
Does this age-old struggle for the high ground of moral superiority suggest any action? That question must be answered according to the value you give to truth in your own life and your relation to other men.
REFER TO "CONTRIBUTION" 26 & 27
"All experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."
The Declaration of Independence (1776)
